The Educational Project of Modernity and the Society of Nowadays
Abstract
The article is devoted to analysis of the educational project of modernity and its role in the contemporary society. The ambivalence of the educational project of modernity is expanded so that the latter: 1) means a specific educational practice corresponding to the society of modernity; 2) demonstrates constituting of the society of modernity in a form of educational project. It is these features that make the modern age of Enlightenment period unique. The principal cultural results thereof are self-governing person and a schema of «selfmaking» as a lifestyle. Three lines of critique of the educational project of modern in the latter half of the 20th century are singled out, and their theoretical weaknesses are shown. The main criteria to diagnose crisis of the educational project of modernity are given ground.
