«European Choice» in Teaching Philosophy in the Higher Education School

Abstract

The necessity to recomprehend the purpose and functions of philosophical knowledge in the contemporary system of education with regard to the radical social changes in our country, actualizes the problem of determination of the content, structure and orientation of scientific material used as a basis for the future course of Philosophy in Higher Education School. «European choice» as a cultural and civilized orientation of the Ukrainian teaching of social and humanitarian disciplines. The course of Modern Philosophy should become the basic one in studying Philosophy in the Higher Education School. A student should obtain knowledge about the ways some philosophical questions interpreted in the context of the Modern Philosophy of Culture. The course of Modern Philosophy should contain an analysis of the main contemporary philosophical systems including as equal such leading trends as Analytical Philosophy, Phenomenology, Post-Structuralism and post-marxist schools.
