Abstract

Phenomenon of knowledge alienation is considered as a process of deformation of the essence of the main educational functions, destruction of initial
unity between the main elements of educational system. Philosophical and pedagogical alternatives of knowledge alienation are analyzed. Among them are:
ideas of J. Dewey, P. Freire, H. Giroux. The shortcomings of critical pedagogy are showed. The hidden curriculum in Ukrainian textbooks is disclosed.
