Abstract

The article deals with phenomenology and hermeneutics as the philosophical conceptions which can be used as the methodological foundation of philosophy and humanities.
Phenomenology is treated as antimetaphysical philosophical project. Phenomenology is not a set of methodological prescriptions; it is rather description of the philosophical style of thinking. The author analyzed the publications in the contemporary Ukrainian philosophical journals and several important books on this point. Phenomenology and hermeneutics are represented as methodology of sociology, legal philosophy, philosophy of religion, philosophy of culture, philosophy of art, philosophical anthropology, political philosophy, aesthetics, ethics and so on. It is demonstrated that the phenomenological concepts of intentionality, intersubjectivity, temporality and corporeity can be effectively applied in the empirical studies. So we can say that phenomenology and hermeneutics are widely used in the Ukrainian humanities as methodological paradigms.
