National Self-identification as a Factor of Sociocultural Development

Abstract

Formation of sociocultural context of the Ukrainian society and realization of a new educational paradigm presupposes the correlation between such categories as «nation» and «nationality», their influence on the personality’s development and determination of the value-oriented hierarchy. The social and philosophical grounds to the role of culturological approach in the national school formation as one of the means of national cultural building is presented in the paper. Sociocultural processes of the modern society and problems of
value orientations, their correlation and mutual enrichment with the notions of «nation» and «ethos» is examined in the article.
