Abstract

The current problems of history of Ukrainian pedagogical libraries are reviewed in the monograph. Based on the large amount of factual material the author summarized and enriched our knowledge about the peculiarities of becoming Ukrainian pedagogical libraries, their diverse activities. She has introduced into scientific use the set of sources, which were unknown before to Ukrainian scientists. The concept of «pedagogical library» in typal classification is precised. The work of pedagogical libraries at zemska uprava, in literacy societies, and also the creation of the central scientific and pedagogical libraries, the formation of a network of educational libraries of Ministry of Education and Science and National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine are analyzed.
