Abstract

The article examines the problem of information and knowledge in the process of their interaction in the context of development of contemporary education and establishing of «knowledge-based society». The role of each of these phenomena of post-industrial society is analyzed and their importance in forming of contemporary intellectual elite is shown. Revolution in the way of processing, transformation and retransmission of knowledge that is associated with the use of new information technologies, signifi cantly increases the level of education while placing it in front of new requirements.
