Abstract

The religious education in Ukraine today is on crossing a few mutually contradictory tendencies: revival of the classical religious learning in church organizations, which in soviet time was partly  limited; partial returning to pre-soviet practice of religious education outside church organizations; and quite the newest tendencies of providing of the newest religious education subject in context of policonfessional, multicultural, post-secular societies. These tendencies can be examined as conventionaly autonomous, such, which have internal logic, own rate of development and own aims. Orthodoxy as most widespread, traditional for Ukraine and institutionally developed confession must exemplify not only for the decision of problem of interrelation of confessional and non-confessional ways of providing of religious education but also to come forward a base for creation of public policy
in this sphere. Orthodoxy should be basic in this question not from positions of grant him of artificial privileges comparatively with other confessions, but due to the use of its social potential, which has both the theoretical and practical aspects.
