Science and Power: Context of Social History of Science

Abstract

Social history of science has changed its guiding lines at the end of XX-th century. It was formed a microanalytical strategy considered in its soсio-cultural context basing on a question – how do power relations penetrate science and what kind of consequences can it bring? Author’s answer to this guestion is based on the analysis of the St. Petersburg collegues’works: «Science and Crisis. Historically-Сomparative Essay. STp., 2003». The foundations of Russian microanalytical strategy of analysis of social history of science that become a part of
historiography and source study are presented in this collective monograuph. The author emphasizes that this work of Russian scientists shows genesis of National Academy of Science and educational systems in Europe and USA.
