Research interests: the intersection of phenomenology, psychopathology and cognitive neuroscience, with a main emphasis on embodiment, enactivism, temporality and intersubjectivity.

He has authored over 350 journal articles, book chapters and several books. He is also co-editor of Psychopathology and editorial board member of 4 scientific journals. He is Chairman of the “Deutsche Gesellschaft für Phänomenologische Anthropologie, Psychiatrie und Psychotherapie” (DGAP).
