Abstract

The article provides the review of book by Dmytro Shevchuk “The sense and limits of political: philosophical interpretation,” which was published in 2014. This work – is the search of the way of thinking about politics, which is able to grasp the true meaning of the political, which is a sign of the political world, where people live real “political life”, realizing their freedom and following common good. The interest to the monograph is caused by the fact that it presents the author’s concept of social-philosophical analysis of ontological dimensions of the political world. The reflections on the political world as a subject of political philosophy in general provide an opportunity to identify the universal characteristics of political and make a kind of political “returning” to it. Investigating the philosophical bases of political is extremely important in the context of contemporaneity, because it allows to look critically on it, trying to understand the senses, generated by it, and create a basis for rational policy implementation.
